A quick sketch I did a while back during a lunch break of Mei.
I thought I’d try this hourly comic day thing for at least some of the day. I abandoned all knowledge of anatomy, perspective, consistency and basic drawing skills. It was awesome.
And no, I’m not usually that smiley while I create cute and squishy decals for nurseries… that smile fades after a few minutes as tiredness sets in. I’m more like the third slide for the rest of the day. Coffee just doesn’t have the same affect on me anymore. I’m immune to caffeine D:
So I’ve changed my mind about the comic I’m doing. I’m finally going to work on my fourth story of my book but instead I’m going to make it into this comic ^^ I think it’s better for the comic to have a purpose rather than random things about me and my cat. I mean, that by no way means I won’t be doing comic strips of me and my kitties every once in a while.
The story is about a girl named Mei and her underwater adventures. That fish hat she’s got there turns into a spiffy helmet for when she’s under the sea. I’m still tweaking her underwater outfit so I won’t be posting that yet. She will also have a cute little love interest. I’m super excited to be finally working on Aquanaut Adventures (erm… working title).
I made this the other day when practicing a style for a comic I’m going to start doing. I was playing with brushes and colors and non-time consuming techniques so that I don’t give up :| I need to practice more often and I think a comic is a good way to motivate myself to draw often. I guess it’s going to be a lot about daily things but probably mainly about my cats…
So yeah, Princess loves cuddles. Don’t let her “anger” fool you. It’s all for show and it’s gotten worse since our newest member, Lily, joined us. Might be a territorial/jealous/i’ll-show-you-who’s-boss thing. The princess does not like to share.
She cuddled with me all night and even now she’s curled up into a ball right next to me. She’s the sweetest thing. Even when she’s protesting my love for her she’s never scratched me. Unfortunately she lives with my mom ;^; I will kittynap her one day!
So I can take out my scarves, coats and boots. c:
