I’m really inspired by all the different ways to donate and help out Japan that I’ve seen people come up with. Like the playoffs that Michael Paukner started up on Dribbble to create awareness which I just participated in tonight:

Say A Prayer For Japan & Donate by Karen Dessire on Dribbble

There’s also the Call to Action: Art for Japan which is an auction that the very awesomely talented Meg Hunt and Alice Hunt are putting together. You can donate merchandise, prints, books, posters, original art, whatever you can spare! It can be something you’ve made in the past that you’re willing to give or something entirely new to *donate for the auction. It can be related to Japan or not. Whatever you heart desires! It’s just something really awesome you can do in a creative way to donate funds to Japan. They also need some volunteers to help out with the website if you’re interested.
I can’t wait to get something started for this auction. I will make time! XD
*All funds raised through this campaign will be donated to AmeriCares and tagged for Japan relief. AmeriCares, a nonpartisan and nondenominational organization, uses 99% of its revenue on its charitable programs and is rated four stars on CharityNavigator.org.

I also found out that STUBBORN SIDEBURN is giving away free merch (worth the equal amount of your donation)! So you get to donate money for a really good cause and get something cool in return. Now, there’s some awesome incentive for people to donate right!? Right?!
And then you can do what I did (which can work for STUBBORN SIDEBURN’S offer) and you can text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. The $10 donation will appear on your next bill. Or visit www.redcross.org and click on “DONATE FUNDS” and select Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami.
I really hope this gets the word out and it would be really awesome if you guys can pass the word along. Let’s make it happen!
